Books to Read January | 2021

Hello, book lovers! 💕

Being that it’s already a few days into January already, I figured it would be a good time to discuss the books that I plan on reading this month. I don’t have that many books on this list, mainly because I don’t see myself getting a lot of reading done.

It’s been a stressful few days in my life, and I haven’t really been in the mood to pick anything up. But here’s to hoping that the rest of the month turns out better. And that I’m able to get at least a few of these books read.

So without further ado, let’s get onto the books that I want to try to read this month!

I’ll start with the book that I was in the middle of reading by the end of December, which was The Tourist Attraction by Sarah Morgenthaler. I actually finished this book a couple days into the New Year. And I really enjoyed it, but I’m planning on doing a review of it in the next week or so.

It was the perfect winter read, and I’m so glad that I decided to pick it up.

Since finishing that book, I haven’t really been in any particular mood as to what I want to read next. But I’ve been eyeing up Legendborn by Tracy Deonn that I’ve my shelves for a while now. So I decided to pick that up. Though I’m not even 20 pages into it, so I don’t have many thoughts on it just yet.

The only thing that I know about it is that there’s some kind secret society called “Legendborn” where students hunt creatures (something about flying demons?). So I’m intrigued to say the least to continue on with the story.

A couple other books that I’m thinking about reading this month are the Avatar comics (no surprise there since I didn’t read them in December).

The only other book that I’m planning on possibly reading is These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong. I haven’t heard much about this book other than it’s a Romeo and Juliette retelling, which should be a good time.

It’s also set in 1920s China, which is something that I’ve never read about before, so I’m definitely interested in seeing what it’s all about.

So there you have it. Those are the books that I plan on reading this month. I know the list is kind of short considering I read a decent amount last month. But I figured I could always add more books as the month goes on if I have the urge to read something else. I don’t want to put too much pressure on myself to have a long TBR to end up not reading any of the books on it.

Have you read any of these books that I mentioned? I’d love to chat about them in the comments below!

  2. I’ve just started reading Legendborn yesterday and am still in the “I don’t know what’s going on but it sounds cool” stage 😂 And These Violent Delights is also on my TBR, I got an arc for it but have yet to actually read and review it, shame on me 🙈
