May Wrap Up & June TBR | 2021

Hello, book lovers! 💕

Long time no see! I officially finished my first week in my new job, and I’ve got to say, it’s exhausting. By the time I get home, I don’t want to do much other than lay down in bed.

But that’s not what I’m here to talk about today. I figured since I’m off for Memorial Day, I’d come on and talk about the books that I read in May. Which weren’t many.

May was a weird reading month in the fact that I didn’t really feel like reading that much. That being said, I was able to get through one book, and the only reason was because it was an audiobook. And I’m in the middle of reading an ebook.

I figured I’d also include some of the books that I want to read in June since this post is going to be so short. I’m hoping to be able to get through more books in the month of June, but there aren’t any promises that that’ll happen.

So without any further ado, let’s get onto the book that I read in May and the books that I want to read in June!

That one lonely book that I was able to finish this month was Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J. K. Rowling. I listened to this early on in the month, and it’s never really been my favorite book in the series.

I always forget how much I absolutely hate Professor Umbridge in this book. And even in the movie. She pisses me off so much throughout the story, but that just makes what happens to her in the end all the more gratifying.

The other book that I’ve been slowly making my way through is Take a Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert. I’m reading this one on my Kindle, and I’m really enjoying it. I’m not that far into it, maybe 100 pages at this point, but it’s really good. I’ve been reading a bit on my lunch break at work and sometimes before bed.

So that brings me to the books that I want to read in June. I definitely want to finish Dani Brown in June since I’m already a little less than halfway through it. But other than that, I’m not really sure what I want to read this month.

I do want to read (or well, listen to) is The Soulmate Equation by Christina Lauren. I got this one on audiobook, so I should be able to get through it pretty quickly. This came out in the middle of May, so it’s a pretty new book, and it’s also one that I’m pretty excited about. Even though I have no idea what it’s actually about. I just know that it’s by Christina Lauren, and I’ve enjoyed their previous books.

I also want to finally get to the next couple volumes of Lumberjanes by Noelle Stevenson. I feel like I’ve been saying that I want to read them every month for the last couple months, and I just haven’t gotten around to it. I don’t even know why. But I’m hoping this is the month that I finally do. I mean, they’re pretty short reads, so I don’t see why I shouldn’t be able to.

I might also get to the next book in the Harry Potter series, which would be Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince. I definitely want to continue my reread of Harry Potter. I’ve really been enjoying the reread, and I’m almost done with it. Which kind of makes me sad because it’s such a nostalgic series for me.

Other than those few books, I’m not sure what else I’ll end up reading. I’m not going to put too many books on this list only because I don’t want to put too much pressure on myself to read. Especially considering I started a new job, and I haven’t really had that much time to read. I’ll probably just see where the month takes me and what I’m in the mood to read at the time.

So there you have it. That’s the book that I was able to read this month, and the one that I’m currently reading. And also the books that I want to read in the month of June I know this is a really short wrap up, and an even shorter TBR, but I haven’t really been in a reading mood lately. I’m hoping that changes in June.

Have you read any of these books that I mentioned? I’d love to chat about them in the comments below!
