Hello, book lovers! đź’•
It’s been a while since I’ve done this type of post. As I always say in these kinds of posts, I’m not very consistent with doing them. But I figured I’d change it up a bit, especially since I’ve added quite a few books to my TBR on Goodreads since the last time I did this.
But anyway, Goodreads Monday is a weekly meme that was started by Lauren’s Page Turners. The meme is pretty easy to follow; to participate simply choose a random book from your TBR and explain why you want to read it! I originally saw this post on A Little Haze Book Blog, who is amazing and you should definitely check their blog out.
I use a random number generator to pick the book from my Goodreads TBR. This way, I have no idea what book I’m going to end up talking about in today’s post.
So without any further ado, let’s get onto the book I’m going to discuss!

The book that I ended up choosing was Take Me Home Tonight by Morgan Matson. I honestly have no idea what this book is about other than the fact that it’s by Morgan Matson, and I’ve read all of her books that she has released. So of course I was going to add this one as well when I found out she was coming out with a new book. That’s really all I need to know when it comes to this author.
But here’s the synopsis from Goodreads:

Two girls. One night. Zero phones.
Kat and Stevie—best friends, theater kids, polar opposites—have snuck away from the suburbs to spend a night in New York City. They have it all planned out. They’ll see a play, eat at the city’s hottest restaurant, and have the best. Night. Ever. What could go wrong?
Well. Kind of a lot?
They’re barely off the train before they’re dealing with destroyed phones, family drama, and unexpected Pomeranians. Over the next few hours, they’ll have to grapple with old flames, terrible theater, and unhelpful cab drivers. But there are also cute boys to kiss, parties to crash, dry cleaning to deliver (don’t ask), and the world’s best museum to explore.
Over the course of a wild night in the city that never sleeps, both Kat and Stevie will get a wake-up call about their friendship, their choices…and finally discover what they really want for their future.Â
That is, assuming they can make it to Grand Central before the clock strikes midnight.
That sounds like it would be such a fun and wild ride. And it sounds like it’s something different than Matson’s typical books where she deals with familial issues or friendship issues, but includes romance in the mix. This doesn’t really seem like it’ll have that much romance, which is fine. It reminds me of her other book, Since You’ve Been Gone where it focuses mainly on friendship and finding oneself.

But either way, I’m here for it. I’m looking forward to when it comes out, which is May 4th of this year. So only a few weeks. Not too long of a wait, which is good because I really want to read it now that I’ve read the synopsis.

So there you have it. That’s the book that I chose for Goodreads Monday! Have you read anything by Morgan Matson? What did you think if you have? I’d love to chat about it in the comments below!
