Hello, book lovers! 💕
It’s been a little while since I’ve done a book tag, and when I saw this tag posted by Way Too Fantasy, I thought it looked like a fun tag to fill out. I’m not sure who started this one but will happily credit if anyone knows.
Read on the bed or the couch?
I read mostly on my bed, unless no one is home, then I might venture to the living room to get some reading done.
Read at night or in the morning?
Lately, I’ve been reading mostly at night. And mostly right before I go to sleep. But if I’m listening to an audiobook, then I’d listen at almost any time that I get the urge to pick it up.
Male main character or female main character?
Honestly, it doesn’t matter to me. As long as the story is good. But it seems that lately, I’ve been reading books with female main characters (mostly romances or contemporary books). And in those cases, the main character is female, but the authors are also female, so I don’t know if that has any correlation.
First person POV or third person POV?
I’ll read either, but I really enjoy first person POV. I like being inside the main character’s head with the internal monologue when they’re going through different situations in the story.
Trilogies or quartets?
I’m not good at sticking to series in general, so I’m going to say standalones. I do enjoy series sometimes, especially when it comes to fantasy, so in that case, I’d go with trilogies.
Libraries or bookstore?
Both for different reasons.
Libraries because I don’t have to pay to read books and I’m not pressured to finish it if I’m not liking it. I can just return it. But my library has been shut down for the majority of the last year, and as of right now, they’re just allowing people to go in by appointment for a certain amount of time. They also have curbside pickup, but I’m still a little weary about borrowing books right now.
Bookstores because I get to grow my own library collection. Though I’ve been doing most of my book buying online since the closest bookstore to me is almost an hour away.
Books that make you laugh or cry?
I’d definitely prefer books that make me laugh. Though any book that makes me feel some sort of emotion is usually a good book.
Black book covers or white book covers?
Is this the dust jacket or the hardcover book itself? Because if it’s the actual book itself, I don’t have a preference, though I tend to get white book covers dirty pretty fast since I carry them around with me.
Character-driven or plot-driven?
Definitely character-driven. I want to feel invested in the characters, and I’m not sure you get that as much with a plot-driven story. There should still be a good plot, but the characters should take you on that journey.
And there you have it! The This or That Book Tag. I’m not tagging anyone this time, but if you like this one and want to try it out, consider yourself tagged!

Glad you were able to fill this one out, it’s a fun tag. I love character driven stories so much, I almost always see others do too and that makes me happy. 🙂
