Most Anticipated Book Releases | 2021

Hello, book lovers! 💕

I seriously cannot believe how fast this month is going. The fact that we’re over halfway through it already blows my mind. But today I figured I’d talk about the books I’m most excited for next year.

There aren’t many new releases that I’m really excited for, so this list is kind of short. Then again, I bad at following book releases, so I don’t usually know what books are coming out when. It’s usually when a book has been out for a couple months that I’ll even know of a book’s existence.

Most of these books on this list are ones by authors who I’ve read other books. So either sequels or standalones by authors who I really love. Any books that are coming out next year by authors I’m not familiar with I’m not including only because I don’t know anything about them.

But that’s enough excuses. Let’s get onto the list of books that I’m anticipating the most in 2021!

I’m going to put these in the order that they’re going to be released. And this isn’t an extensive list; I know there are many books that I’m missing that I’ll probably remember once they’re released.

February 2021

Release Date: 02/02/2021

This is the sequel to All the Stars and Teeth that came out earlier in 2020. I listened to the first book on audiobook, and I really enjoyed it. It has pirates and mermaids and a lot of adventure. I’m excited to get back into the world to see where the characters go next.

Release Date: 02/16/2021

I have been waiting for many years for this book to come out. A Court of Wings and Ruin came out in 2017; I remember getting it on the day it was released. Even the novella, A Court of Frost and Starlight has been out for a couple years now. Though that’s because I don’t think the series was supposed to be more than 3 books.

But I’m excited for this one. I can’t wait to read about Nesta; she was such an interesting character in the first three books.

April 2021

Release Date: 04/20/2021

Is it any surprise that I’m excited for a new Becky Albertalli book? I don’t even know what this book is about; I just know it’s by Becky Albertalli. So there is no doubt in my mind that I’ll be picking this up when it comes out next year.

I’ll probably end up preordering it at some point before it comes out, so I can have it in my collection with the rest of her books.

May 2021

Release Date: 05/18/2021

I’m not sure what this one is about; I just know that I’ve enjoyed Christina Lauren’s other books, so I’m pretty sure I’ll enjoy this one as well. I’m a sucker for any kind of rom-com, so it’ll most likely be a lot of fun.

It also sounds like it’s going to be different in the way that the characters handle dating. There’s a DNA-based matchmaking company that apparently finds a soulmate through DNA,and I’m interested to see how that works in the story.

August 2021

Release Date: 08/10/2021

Similarly to the Christina Lauren book, I don’t know exactly what this book is about other than the fact that I read a book by Jeff Zentner a couple years ago that I really loved. And I thought that I would give this one a try as well.

From what I read from the synopsis, it sounds like it’s going to be a really intense read about grief, found family, and young love.
