Hello, book lovers! 💕

I feel like I’ve read a lot in the past few weeks, so I thought I’d take a moment to discuss what I’m currently reading and maybe some books that I recently finished in the last week or so. Which I am happy to say has been a decent amount (at least for me).

So I’ll start off with the book that I’m currently reading, which is Now Entering Addamsville by Francesca Zappia. I’m listening to it on audiobook, and I’m literally flying through it (though I do that with audiobooks anyway). But I’m really enjoying it so far.

It’s a bit different than what I was expecting, but then again, I don’t know what I was expecting. All I knew going into it that there was ghosts and mysteries, and that was really all I needed to know other than the fact that it was written by Francesca Zappia, who I adore.

I don’t want to go too much into what it’s about because I think that’s the fun of the story, not really knowing what you’re getting yourself into.

The story feels like a contemporary because it’s set in a fictional town that mirrors reality in the sense that it could be a real place. But the main character can see and talk to ghosts. And ghost investigating is a major part of the culture of the town. So at the same time it feels like an urban fantasy with the elements of supernatural.

But anyway, I’m really liking the story for what it is, and I’m hoping to finish it either today or tomorrow.

The other books I recently finished reading I listened to on audio as well, which is probably why I got through them so fast. They’re also books that weren’t on my initial TBR for October, but ones that I knew I needed to read this month. And I’m so glad I did. I have a review for The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab posted if you want to know my thoughts on that book (I loved it). And I plan on doing a review on The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman soon, so keep an eye out for that.

As for what I plan on picking up after I finish Now Entering Addamsville, I want to pick up yet another audiobook. And that one is the audiobook for If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio. I own the physical copy of this book, and I think I was planning on reading it physically, but I’ve been on an audiobook kick lately. Plus, I’m able to get some drawing done while I listen, so it’s a win-win.

I also plan on reading The Halloween Tree by Ray Bradbury on the weekend of Halloween. It’s pretty short, so I feel like I could get through it in one day if I sit down and force myself to read.

But I’m really proud of myself because not only did I read almost everything on my TBR for this month, I also read two extra books that weren’t on the list. And they were all such great reads! It’s been a while since I had such a great reading month, and I’m so glad that it is during the month of Halloween.

But anyway. There you have it. Those are the books that I recently finished reading, am currently reading, and plan on reading next. What book are you currently reading? Are you reading any spooky books to get in the Halloween spirit? I’d love to discuss it in the comments below!
