As the Tome Topple Readathon comes to a close, I want to reflect on my progress that I made during the two weeks that it took place. Which challenges did I meet? How many tomes did I finish? I actually did a lot better than I expected.

The first tome that I got through was Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi. I’m not going to go too much into my thoughts on this book, mainly because I plan on doing a full review on here soon. Just know that I liked it, and it is definitely worth picking up.
I listened to this on audiobook, and I think that was part of the reason I was able to get through it. It was just over 500 pages, and any book that is that many pages, I tend to pick up on audiobook, or it would take me at least a month to get through. At least, that’s what happened when I read Sarah J. Maas’ Throne of Glass series. But I digress.

The other book that I got through was The Devil’s Thief by Lisa Maxwell. Again, I listened to this on audiobook because, as I mentioned, any book over 500 pages is hard for me to get through if I read it in physical form. And being that this book was pretty much 700 pages, it was a given that I’d listen to it on audiobook or it would take me a month to get through.
Again, I’m not going to go too much into my thoughts on this book, mainly because it is a sequel and I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn’t read the first book, The Last Magician. It pretty much picked up from where that one left off, but I did do a review on the first book a few months back if you’re interested in knowing what I thought about that one.
The Children of Blood and Bone completed the challenges of reading one tome, as well as a tome for Black History Month. The Devil’s Thief completed the challenges of reading a tome on audiobook, as well as the tome on your TBR with the most pages. So in total, I completed four categories, which means I was a scholar. I also got bingo in the middle!

I tried to participate in some of the reading sprints on twitter, though not as many as I wanted. But overall, my experience with this readathon was a positive one. I would definitely consider participate in the next one, and I want to participate in more readathons in the future.
Did you participate in this readathon? If so, which books did you get through? Did you complete any challenges?
